文摘内容 Functions of waterscapes in modern landscape design were elaborated,and important role of empathy in the construction of waterscapes was proposed.Ways of creating rich modal languages of waterscape design were explored,such as symbolizing,contrast,foil and metaphor.And it was also proposed that all successful waterscape designs take the connection among human,water and environment into consideration.
